This is your official invitation, and we would like to cordially invite you to participate and attend if at all possible the very first Great Western Silver & Engraving Show. The show takes place May 19-20-21 in Sheridan Wyoming. The event will be held in the Custom Cowboy Shop, which is the home of Don & Kitty Butler's fine handmade saddles. Let me explain it, and see if it appeals to you as an artist.
As most of you know we sent out a questionnaire asking many questions and advise if you had any to share. Out of that round of questions and suggestions, we came up with the Shows name. We came to the conclusion that most folks would just prefer to have a Show, and no contest. And most folks said never mind having small workshops during this time, because there are so many other things going on in Sheridan at the same time. Seems most folks are pretty comfortable with a 20% commission on items sold during the Show. Last point, most artists feel that a limit of 3 items per person is just fine.
We are having a Show to celebrate silver smith skills and engraving, not each as a separate entity, but rather in careful collaboration on each item submitted. We do understand that many of you are bit & spur makers, this is not a bit & spur makers show. So, we came up with a compromise. Each person is allowed to have one of either a bit or a pair of spurs, but not both of these items. The other two items sent can be made of any material/media you would desire, as long as they incorporate silver, and some engraving. We do not want to place any restrictions on the style of items made, nor the application of items sent in, there will be no limitations with regard to the type of engraving you do on each item. Literally the Show is as wide open as the range land it will be held on, that way spontaneity & creativity will be on full display for visitors to see. All submissions must be made by just one artist from beginning to end, no collaboration on items between different artists.
We would ask that you give Jeremiah or Colleen a call, and let us know if you plan to participate in the Show, and if you plan on attending the Show as well. For those who are making plans on sending us work, please have it sent to

All participating artists should have their work in Sheridan no later than May 13th, so we can have time to set the Gallery up. We will make every effort to have the items listed for sale on the internet as well, at our www.ranch2arena.com site. All participating artists will be responsible for shipping to and from the Show.
Please find enclosed one free poster. If you desire to buy more go to www.ranch2arena.com and you can purchase more of these fine posters.
Folks, if this Show is going to be positive event, then we need to tell those folk's who are our best patrons, we need to work on having them attend the Show. It is not too late to tell a silver working friend about the Show, they can also participate. The Show is not limited to any age or skill level. We are excited and looking forward to seeing all the great work submitted, and most of all, seeing you in Sheridan this spring. I won't miss it, and don't you either!
Our warmest regards; Jeremiah & Colleen Watt
